Lakers And Warriors Injury Reports

The Golden State Warriors will meet the Los Angeles Lakers in the second half of the 2023 NBA season, despite some players being injured.

Warriors Out — Chris Paul (left hand fracture)

I had hoped that CP3 would be able to play tonight, but he was unable to do so. He's getting close to a return, though, and has resumed five-on-five action.

I'd anticipate him to return either on Sunday against the Denver Nuggets or on Tuesday when the Warriors begin their road trip against the Washington Wizards.

Questionable — Gary Payton II (illness)

The Warriors can't seem to get over the sickness bug! Still, it's much easier to see Payton on the injured list with sickness rather than injuries.

Lakers

Out: LeBron James (left ankle peroneal tendinopathy). The Lakers confirmed on Wednesday that James will miss Thursday's game.

It's certainly a great win for the Warriors, but a disappointment for supporters. It's always exciting to watch James and Steph Curry compete.

Out — Christian Wood (left knee effusion)

The Warriors frequently struggle with athletic big men, so Wood's absence is a boon to Golden State.

Wood is averaging 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 17.4 minutes off the bench in his debut season with the Lakers, his seventh NBA franchise.

Out — Jarred Vanderbilt (right mid-foot sprain)

With this injury report, the Lakers' lineup is severely lacking in athleticism!
